Chromie of the Week: Niwashi!

Niwashi really typifies what this forum is about. Niwashi's speedy replies, knowledge of Google Chrome, courtesy towards other users, and attention to detail have helped Google Chrome users the world over since Niwashi joined the forum last year. For example, in this recent thread, Niwashi speedily offered a helpful fix that precisely solved the asker's problem. What's more, Niwashi was kind enough to check back a couple of days later to further clarify the solution and resolve any confusion. If you have a small screen and are looking for a way to do away with the bookmarks bar, I recommend checking out Niwashi's post.

Thank you, Niwashi, for being a great asset to the forum! :)

M4192: Master of Brevity

Maybe it's just his forum alias, but M4192 reminds me of a secret agent.

He's always got a calm, cool, relevant response to the question at hand, and he gets right to the point--you get the sense he doesn't use a single extra letter in his posts. He's been a member of the forum since November 2009 and we hope he'll stick around for a lot longer.
Congrats M4192, and thank you!

He's especially nifty when it comes to using command lines to solve problems: check out this post for a particularly creative work-around.

On top of the help he provides in the forum, alex writes an awesome blog about all things Google, and his Buzz is informative and entertaining. In short, check this guy out. He's awesome. And if you've got a Google Chrome question, you should hope he's in the neighborhood.

Translate for Google Chrome

Dejan1024: Our Google Chrome Veteran

Here's a problem. People download Google Chrome abroad, and it automatically installs in the language of the country where they're traveling, which they can't read. There's an option to change their default language once Google Chrome is downloaded, but since they can't read the language, they can't navigate through the menu options. How can they make Google Chrome work for them?

Enter Dejan1024, our Google Chrome Veteran. After following this thread for a while, Dejan came up with the answer: a picture is worth a thousan words. He took time to lay out the whole process with screen shots and helpful numbered steps to walk people through the process, no matter what language their browser was in. Awesome.

Thanks Dejan, for all your awesome contributions.

What is Google Buzz?

Google Buzz is a new way to start conversations about the things you find interesting. It's built right into Gmail, so you don't have to peck out an entirely new set of friends from scratch — it just works. If you think about it, there's always been a big social network underlying Gmail. Buzz brings this network to the surface by automatically setting you up to follow the people you email and chat with the most. We focused on building an easy-to-use sharing experience that richly integrates photos, videos and links, and makes it easy to share publicly or privately (so you don't have to use different tools to share with different audiences). Plus, Buzz integrates tightly with your existing Gmail inbox, so you're sure to see the stuff that matters most as it happens in real time.

Chrome Extensions

The new Google Chrome browser is already 1 year and 3 month old. But there still make this browser more than just a browser. This time it got something new inside it. Chrome Extensions

Google Chrome extensions are a great way to add more features and functionality to the browser. Sometimes, a feature is really useful for some people, but not for everyone. Extensions let you customize Google Chrome with features you like, while keeping your browser free of clutter that you don't use.

My own developed extensions
Font Size Increase
Sometimes websites have text that is so hard to read and I want to increase it easily and quickly without increasing everything else on the page. Then use the A+ browser button!

Font Size Decrease
And for decrese the font use then A- browser button!

Video
Below a YouTube video, that show what this both extensions can do.

Google Chrome Extensions are only supported on the Beta Channel or Dev of Google Chrome:
